| Access | Goats crag is
off Borrowdale up the side valley of Watendlath. Past the probably most
pictured bridge in the Lake district, Ashness bridge. The road to
Watendlath branches off the main road about 3km from Keswick.
Follow this road for roughly 3km, through a dark woods, and between some boulders. The crag is the last one on the left side before reaching Watendlath. It is after a long low crag and then a short steep crag. A small amount of parking is available past the small steep buttress, immediately before the stone walls begin on either side of the road. The crag is visible above the trees on the left. Go through the gate opposite the lay by., through another gate into a field. Go up the side of the field, and along its top. Then go directly up the fell side, past a buttress, and then follow the dry stone wall to the crag. Do not anger the cows in the first field, they look scary. |
| Comments | The buttress dries
quite quickly due to little vegetation, and almost no seepage. On the
whole the rock is good.
There are a cluster of decent hard routes to choose from, and the views are excellent. Having said that it is quite out of the way, and not really worth while. |

Pussy Galore, 13m, E2 5c. Interesting crack
climb.
Inner Limits, 14m, HVS 5a. Son of Oz, 15m, S. If the nettles were removed, it would be excellent. |
