| Access | This crag is visible from the main road into Chapel Stile, it is the only buttress on the northern fell side. Parking is available on the road up to Red Bank from Chapel Stile. A path leads up to the crag by the side of a field. The path is very steep, but fortunately short. |
| Comments | In the F&RCC
Langdale guide it calls the crag "a poor weather alternative".
Admittedly you cannot keep visiting it over and over again, but if you go
in poor weather you will not get the most out of it.
The rock is clean and mostly solid, and everyone should have a go at Walthwaite Chimney, graded Hard Very Vegetated, if only so they will appreciate clean climbs all the more. |
