PENYGHENT

Rock Type Grit
Access From Horton-in-Ribblesdale, follow the green lane towards Hull Pot and from the end of the enclosed lane, head directly for the crag. The walk can be made in around 45mins.

Alternatively the crag can be gained from the Pennine way, starting from Dale head on the Stainforth to Halton Gill road. This walk is steeper but shorter, and should take around 30mins.

Comments Due to the position of the crag, high on Penyghent, the quality of the rock is variable. But the position also gives some of the best situations, and views, on any crag in Yorkshire.
Best Routes Christian's Crux, 25m, VS 4c.

Pitchfork Crack, 23m, HVS 5a. Excellent jamming.

If it gets wet then you could go underground. Play in the huge Alun Pot hole at the base of the fell, pictures at bottom.
